Since the race’s inception in 2004 numerous teams and fans from Eastern North America have come to Eagle Lake, Maine to answer the call of race season's first mid distance sled dog race! Are you ready? Held in the Middle of Northern Maine’s icy grip of winter, the Irving Woodlands / Mad Bomber Eagle Lake 100 offers serious challenges to sled dog teams and excitement to sledding enthusiasts! The Saint John Valley and the Town of Eagle Lake welcome you to one of the few areas in the world where extended sled dog races are possible. This web site is intended for you to learn about one of the fastest growing winter sports on the planet and the Irving Wodlands / Mad Bomber 100 Sled Dog Race in particular. Here you will find information on how to arrive safely in Eagle Lake, lodge and dine in the vicinity, learn about the race's history, sign up for the race and most importantly-enjoy the weekend's events. | |
The weekend begins with a mandatory Pre-race meeting at 7:00 PM Friday, Jan 23. Vet Checks must be scheduled for Friday afternoon or Saturday morning before the race. The Race Begins at 11 AM January 24 at the Eagle Lake Public Beach with 2 minute intervals between teams.
The race will finish at the Eagle Lake Recreational Center late Saturday evening/early Sunday morning.
The weekend will conclude with the Awards Brunch at 10:30 AM Sunday January 25th. Download rules and other pertinent forms elsewhere on this site.
Registration will begin September 1st.
The Running Order will be drawn randomly on October 1st.
